Throughout the year, the Savannah Yamacraw Branch participates in activities designed to educate, preserve history, and engage the community, including:

• Exposing middle school students to vibrant Black history books

• Sponsoring lectures, forums, and storytelling events

• Celebrating the birthday of Dr. Carter G. Woodson, the creator of Black History Month

• Hosting annual banned-books readings

• Supporting scholarly research on local African American history and culture

• Participating in cultural and remembrance events

• Supporting preservation efforts at Laurel Grove South Cemetery
